In partnership with TechTalks.ph for Founders Friday, we did something a little different, but equally important. Cebu Music Tech: A Music and Technology Mixer, the first of many, we hope, was held at A Space in Crossroads, Banilad last October 6.
As part of our Continuing Informal Music Education Program (CIMEP), the purpose of the mixer was to start a conversation about the evolving relationship between music and technology, and eventually establish a community where musicians and innovators can collaborate and work on joint projects.
Led by our very own Cattski Espina, the goal is to strengthen the connection between musicians in the city and the tech community, emphasizing that this is something that is common worldwide, but still in it’s infancy stages in Cebu. In attendance was a diverse mix of musicians, game developers, sound engineers, entrepreneurs, and tech start-up enthusiasts and innovators. After Cattski’s talk, the group got the chance to share their thoughts with everyone on the future they envision for Cebu music and technology.
The event ended with everyone going around sharing ideas and networking. The turnout was a pleasant surprise, and the event was fun, enriching, and promising – all for the growth of Cebu music.
