What made you write this song?
I was inspired to write this song for my best friend who later then became someone even more special than that to me
Describe the process/experience of creating this song from start to finish.
At first I was just really playing with the guitar, creating different tabs and all until I came up with a melody, and the beat and the lyrics just started to come in.
Lyrically, what inspires you? Do you do something or listen to someone to kick start your creativity?
What inspires me to write is the melancholy things that happen in my life. I mostly write sad songs and “The Only One” is practically the first out of two songs I wrote that aren’t exactly bringing out something that’s gloomy. Maybe I was just so overjoyed that time I wrote it and I couldn’t express it any other way.
Does songwriting come naturally to you? Who are your biggest influences?
Yes, it actually does. I think the biggest influence would be a famous songwriter named Grace Vanderwaal. She’s young and so talented and her lyrics are simple yet they bring out really deep meaning. I wanna be like her one day.
Listen to The Only One:
The Only One Lyrics
Everyday I think of the things we used to do
Never thought we’d end up thinking of us two
We never relaly had the chance to spend a lot of time together
I guess that’s just how it seems like
So we started out as friends, ended up as bests
Then we thought about it for a while
Made a wrong turn, lost track, start over again and here we are
Every day I wake up with your voice inside my head
Every night I dream of the things I always thought you’d do
I don’t know how it started, I don’t know if it would end
As long as you’ll know
You’d always be the one, and the only one
I guess every minute of the day I think of you
No turning back, no moving on, just keep going on with you
I’m never gonna stop unless you do
Though, whatever happens, know that I’ll be here for you
